If you ever had remote controller in your hands you're all too well familiar with the feeling of flying an airplane - from the ground! True experts in this field will definitely tell you to forget about cheap plastic made replica models and get your hands on one of the senior telemaster models. And to be honest, they are completely right.
If you decided to follow this advice you will need to get your hands dirty and build one on your own. Getting yourself one already assembled is almost impossible (buying cheap plastic models this way is ok - but those are not the real thing) unless you want to go to a store with a mini wan. On the other hand, assembling senior telemaster on your own is half of the fun!
Just to get an idea of what you will be working with - senior telemaster models are made of light materials like plywood, aluminum and rubber (to be as lightweight as possible) and have either small fuel powered engine or electric engine. They are true replicas of real airplane models.
Senior telemaster models can be single or two wing airplanes. Yes, you can build a plane looking like World War One Albatross used by German ace Manfred von Richthofen better known as Red Baron - or you can have small replica of Sopwith Camel used by RAF. Same goes for the models used later both by civil and military aviation. All you need are plans for building and some free time.
