Depends what you mean by really fast. I replaced the stock motor with a Team Orion Formula SV2 pro-bushing 23x2 and use a 7 cell Intellect battery pack. It's a lot faster than it was stock but I'm not sure exactly how fast. It's also very important to adjust the trim angle of the motor right so it's not running with too much of the hull in the water.

I had the an ep-1 on a similar scratch built boat with the aquacraft brushless system out of my supervee and it was crazy fast. almost as fast as the supervee. Though due to so poor set up when setting the gear clearance in the lower unit and aged wear I stiped those soft brass gears out in 2 runs. Aquacraft does not sell them separate and i am now looking for an alternative gear set up. Any thoughts?

Yeh that would be cool, but not many people own these, and even less have modded them.
